As we are approaching the season of Thanksgiving, I am taking a moment to pause to Give thanks for Serenity Funeral Home. Sadly, I lost my dear mother on October 13, 2024. That moment of grief, hurt and pain was SURREAL! I called Serenity and Theresa aka Tracy answered and the warm reception i received was very comforting. I introduced myself, i explained that my mother just passed away and gave her the address where my beloved mother was to have her body picked up. Tracy assured me that she will have my mom's body picked up. The young gentleman Jamir she sent to pick up my mother's body, respectfully introduced himself, gave my family and I his condolences it was so genuine that it touched our hearts. Jamir explained what he was going to do. My family and I went outside. Next he brought my mother's body out zipped in a body bag which was on a stretcher, and then gently placed her in the back of Serenity's van. To our surprise as he drove off Jamir beeped his horn; oh my how that was a heartfelt and emotional moment. It's hard to explain, how that made us feel my husband was so touched by the respect Jamir gave my deceased mother and her grieving family that my husband broke down and cried. Thank you Jamir for what you did we will NEVER forget the dignity and respect you displayed in that unforgettable moment. <br>Now, on to Theresa aka Tracy. How do I begin to explain, the care, compassion, support and love my deceased beloved mother, my husband and I received from the first day we went to Serenity Funeral Home to meet Tracy to discuss and make the final arrangements. Tracy is truly a GEM created by GOD! What I thought was going to be very hard to do with making the arrangements, Tracy made it a stress-FREE and smooth process. She explained everything step by step, and got to know who my mother was and said, "she is going to take care of the queen" With my preference, since I was not sure if I was emotionally strong enough to select a dress and accessories for my mother, Tracy told me don't worry, she will take care of that part for me. A weight was lifted off me. Tracy and her wonderful sister Carol dressed my beloved my mother for her earthly departure. On the day of my mother's home-going service I received so MANY compliments on how beautiful and how amazing my mother looked even in death! In addition, Tracy has a special/unique touch with having the deceased smile. Tracy and her sister Carol did a WONDERFUL job! I will forever be grateful For Serenity Funeral Home. From the announcement cards, the program, flowers selected, the casket, getting the doves to be released at the burial, must mention that my mother's funeral was held at her home church in Brooklyn, NY and Tracy and Carol left PA early in the morning at 4:30am to arrive a few hours before the funeral was beyond a sacrifice and shows how committed and professional they are!! There are a few more things they did to our surprise but I don't want to spoil the EXTRA BONUS LOVE that they give to the families they serve during their time of grief. LOOK NO FURTHER, Serenity Funeral Home is where you want your loved one's final arrangement to be taken care of when that time comes.
